Jones Day International Legal Fellowship

Jones Day announces the commencement of its Jones Day International Legal Fellowship, for the 2011-2012 academic year. This marks the twelfth consecutive year that Jones Day will award grants to students to encourage the study of law in China.
The 2012 Fellowship awards will be given to law students from selected universities in China. Each winner will receive Rmb15,000. Jones Day grants these Fellowships in the hope that each recipient will use the monies to support their education and experience in whichever legal area they choose to pursue.
The Jones Day International Legal Fellowship was borne out of the Firm’s dedication to legal development in China. Since 2001, Jones Day has awarded 85 Fellowships to legal students in Shanghai, with prizes totaling Rmb1,149,000 (US$176,769) from nine different Shanghai universities: Fudan University, the East China University of Politics and Law, the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade, Shanghai International Studies University, Jiaotong University, Shanghai University, the Shanghai University of Finance and Economy, the East China University of Science and Technology, and Tongji University. In addition, the Firm has awarded 50 Fellowships to legal students in Beijing, with prizes totaling Rmb750,000 (US$115,384) from six different Beijing universities: Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, the China University of Political Science and Law, the University of International Business and Economics and China Foreign Affairs University.
HOW TO APPLY
Applicants can download the application forms from links Shanghai Fellowship Application Form 2012 or Beijing Fellowship Application Form 2012. Completed applications should be sent to Jones Day’s offices in Shanghai or Beijing, respectively, no later than April 25, 2012. More information can be found at the "Frequently Asked Questions" link.
The competition is open to all graduate students attending selected universities in China. It is also open to undergraduate students in their third year and above attending selected universities in China. Previous Jones Day International Legal Fellowship winners are not eligible for consideration.
